About the Books

You will notice this is a decidedly quirky collection of books, with a heavy emphasis on beautiful illustrations and some recurring themes (home, heroics, and belonging, mostly).

Most, but not all, are picture books (as the blog title suggests).

Many, but again not all, have situations and characters that will probably appeal to little girls much more than little boys (again, as the blog title suggests).

We have our own copies of some of the books, but most we've gotten from our public libraries over the years. Many are currently out of print, but Rose and I think that's a shame and that they are well worth looking for at your own libraries.
